HA ! Humor Writers

For those willing to use their funnybones

Mystery writers have theirs, thriller writers have theirs, romance writers have theirs ... but not humor writers. That's why no one takes us seriously! (hey, get that whoopie cushion out of there!)

Hi there, My appologies - somehow I must have missed this. As a person who has been part of/organized amateur comedy nights, I can relate, somewhat. I've been co-writer of comedy skits, some of which went over really well while others laid the p...
Yes, my humor output. I did post, in my blog. Is that not the right place for it? Thanks for the reply Eleanor!
Validation in as far as ? Your humor output? So post a sample piece so we can see the type of stuff you write. How 'bout it?
I joined to learn, and to corroborate. And for validation (hint-hint).

Okay, I recently received a well-deserved admonishment about being an 'absentee-moderator.'

I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry.

And I can see that a lot of people are actively playing on this forum, which makes me feel like moe of , er, more of a (no, actually, Moe fits) of a schmuck.

But I'm really busy (as I'm sure many people are), so I'm putting the thought out that mebbe I should be impeached as moderator. Barring that, maybe someone else might be willing to take over the reins... without impeachment, death or disbarment ... if I can figure out how to pass them.

You deserve better than I've been serving up.

Thoughts?

No, really. I'm funny! - Adult language & content

Those that know me -which are the only people that read my blog -know that I've done stand-up. I've always had the support of my friends, both near and far (side bar to do my Grover impression: Neeeaaaaaaar! *run* *run* *pant* *pant* *pant* Faaaaaar! Damn, I sounded just like him). They've showed up to my shows, most of which have sucked. Eons of trying, and having far more shitty shows than side splitters. I can say I've "killed" an audience before, but the ratio is crap. Ca-ca. Shit. Poo.

And ye shall count the swans on the River Thames...

Given the state of the world today what with loss of employment globally, famine, homelessness, war, you have to wonder about the timing of this news.

Queen Elizabeth, she who rules England, has ordered a counting of the swans, known as the annual "Swan Upping." Perhaps some people might use these words as a means in which to express their thoughts about the activity. Seems that the counting of the swans is a British tradition that dates back to the 12th century involving the counting of the sw… Continue

Oh my - just when Sheila and Jean Paul were getting to know each other

In this installment of my "Starting Over" blog, http://scriberess-startingover.blogspot.com/ Sheila and the dashing French man who has entered her life, Jean Paul, are on their first date at the movie. Things aren't going too well and slowly continue on a downward slide with the unexpected appearance from the past of an old school friend and Estelle, a friend who is allowing Sheila to stay with her. Jean Paul was Estelle's friend before Sheila and she has plans for him, herself.

Never a… Continue

Air Force 1 Raids New York

I received a few inquiries about the Boeing 747 fly-over of NJ and the southern tip of Manhattan a couple weeks ago and so thought I would post this blog. The only recent news is that a future planned fly-over has been cancelled. Apparently the White House got all the publicity photos they needed during that single pass. One also assumes they got all the negative press they needed for a while, as well.

For those of you living on Mars who didn’t hear about it, there was a scare when an unidentif… Continue

Cutting the grass - mower or less

It's Spring, when a man's or woman's thoughts usually turn to...mowing the lawn. After a long winter's nap buried snugly under a blanket of white, nature compels grass to do what grass usually does. Grow it does and then some. Came accross an interesting piece.

Here's something for people who kvetch about how fast their lawns grow and how difficult it is to keep up with cutting them/it/the grass.

Seems that the British are now adopting - wait for it - wallabies as pets to trim theirContinue
