Being that we're in the holiday mode, time to do some serious visualization in as far as our future hopes and dreams are concerned.
Let's see now...
- I'd like a theatre somewhere (anywhere) to acknowledge the brilliant, witty and hilarious dialogue and potential of my plays and of course, produce them. I can see it all now: "oh that Tylbor woman," they most likely would comment after a read-through. "She's hilarious! We hav'ta produce her stuff!"
As I mentioned: holiday dreams
- I wouldn't mind penning (or keying in) my witty observations of life for an online paying humor mag
Holiday Dreams Come True! If I actually got paid by the word, I would be retired now. Here are some Holiday dreams for people that have actually come true! My wife and I just returned to Phoenix from L.A. where we were invited to the premier of 'Seven Pounds', starring Will Smith, who we had met at the premier of 'Pursuit of Happyness'(correct spelling). Our son-in-law Jason, is the producer and co-owner of 'Escape Artists', the company that produced the movie. Our daughter Chrissy, co-produced the movie. She was the one person that thought enough of the script to take a chance on it. It was a very exciting night for us all. Here is why I am writing about this; this is the first movie script that the writer has ever had success with, although he is a very bright and super-hard working individual. I know the chances are very slim-to none-to get something published, but I encourage everyone to continue writing, and don't give up.
Wow Kent - now that's an inspirational story and one that I'll remember whenever I receive yet another "Dear Playwright, thank you for submitting your play to us but..." letter.
So show-biz is in your family, eh? If the critics and noise about "Seven Pounds" is any indication, it's going to be "the" big hit. I've been a Will Smith fan from way back and it seems that everything he touches is golden these days. Talent is talent is... Loved him in "I Robot". Did you see that film? One of my favorites.
Now what you hav'ta do, Kent, is write a script and get family members to produce it!
