I started writing professionally in 1999. My column. "Confessions from the Carpool," runs in the Almaden Times in San Jose, California. I am also the author of Caffeinated Ponderings on Life, Laughter & Lattes and the co-author of Femail: a Comic Collision in Cyberspace. Additionally, I podcast my columns on my blog. I hope you'll visit www.caffeinatedponderings.com to subscribe to Fresh Brew, my free e-newletter.
My current favorite book is Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert. I love her self-deprecating sense of humor, the way she struggles with her thoughts about doing what is expected of her, how she contemplates religion, the way she describes Italian food as though it were her lover.
Favorite practical joke
Hmm. I am not one to commit many practical jokes, though I did enjoy placing a regular grocery store egg in our swimming pool and watching our pre-teen daughters' reaction when the visiting poacher ducks flew away, leaving their "baby" (okay, our breakfast) behind.
I must say that I most often feel that my life is someone else's practical joke. During my grander moments (or should I say "grandeur," as in delusions of...), I feel as though I'm on a movie set with George Clooney and he is up to his usual hijinks. On other days, I'm the confused gal looking around for the hidden camera.
How else can I explain all of life's misadventures?

Hello. Thanks for the note. This internet thing is getting to be a nice little neighborhood, especially when I can find smiling faces like yours in it.
I did not get your friend request, but I am delighted to pick daisies with you at recess. :) This business of asking people to be your friend just takes me back to the blacktop days of youth. Thanks for being my pal!
Welcome, lady! It's good to see your pretty face again. The site fits you like a glove - the elegant handcrafted cashmere kind, though, not the pilly thinsulate ones.
I "friended" you, so I hope you got it. I can never figure out that stuff. People probably think I hate them when I don't know the request is in there.
