Pirate Parenting interview with pirate captain Billy "The Butcher" MacDougall

In a rare interview with both Tim Bete AND Cap'n Billy "The Butcher" MacDougall, the co-authors share why they wrote GUIDE TO PIRATE PARENTING ("Cap’n Billy put his dagger next to my neck and told me I was going to write a book for him") as well as how they placate their muse when she refuses to inspire them ("We ply her with rum"). Read the interview.

Virtual pirate book tour

Ahoy matey!

I'm going on a virtual book tour, which is kind of like sailing without ever leaving the dock. The good news is there'll be no rationing of rum, so hide yer valuables.

You can find information about the tour here.

Starting on July 7, you'll find each day's tour stops here.

Feel free to drop anchor… Continue

Hey Tim!
Thanks for asking me to become your friend on here. You know, I've always worshiped you! It's been a long time since my last Erma conference, but I'd love to go to the next one. Especially since my new book should be out by then.

Chocolaty yours,
Jeanni

Tim,

I have been an Erma Bombeck fan for years and she has been my inspiration for humor writing. I entered the Erma Bombeck Writing contest for the first time this year and hope to attend the conference in April.
I have enjoyed reading about your books and wish they had been around when my girls were small. They are 16 and 20 and trust me, that is a whole new ball game. You will definately have plenty of material to write about as your children get older.
I love reading about parenting from the Dad's perspective. I am sure you have a captive audience.

Take Care,
Laurie Fabrizio

Hey, Tim,

Thanks for jumping on board! One of the shining stars joins us - woo hoo! (hey, anyone willing to take a leadership position in a genre where people avoid leadership is a 'shining star').

Welcome and welcome!
Norm

Thanks, Tim. You probably remember me mention Ulveera's Urchins on CWO, too. And, on the subject of humor, I have finished the edits to Magic, Mensa and Mayhem and need to put inthe Elvish Names Pronunciation Guide and acknowledgements and it's read to send out to critiquers. Woo-hoo!

Blessings,
Karina

Thanks for the friend request. I love your hobbies. My hobby of the last year was mummifying a chicken with my kids--definitely involved pushing my luck (have you ever smelled a mummified chicken?) and I wish I could have flushed it down the toilet.

I've heard good things about Pirate Parenting, and your title has given me an idea...The Barbarian Swordswoman's Guide to Parenting. I have the short story already. (Ulveera's Urchins, not yet published) Wonder if I can make it into a book?

Blessings,
Karina Fabian
