For most females (and males as the case may be) a bra is something one wears to enhance/shape/retain/contain one's breasts. There could be other lesser known uses, for example, a sling-shot or a small container in which to carry seashells collected…

Hi Will (Eleanor waves)! You wrote: " I also figure that almost everybody else here is funnier and more successful than me at humor writing." Funnier is subjective. Some people might (and frequently do) refer to us as weird and successful is also…

Now there's a good starter: why is Chuck here? Anybody?

What about all the other members that are lurking and reading this message:

"Why did you join this (or any other for that matter) humor forum? What do/did you hope to get out of it? Do you make a living from writing humor (if so - luckkkkkky!)?

I'll have to admit, I'm in a lot of social networks these days - there are so many! It's hard to keep up. The great thing is, there's so much money in humor writing.... ummmmm. Okay, maybe not, but it's always 100% fun! Ummmm. Well, maybe not 100%, but humor writing is always appreciated with quick feedback from the readers... ummmmm. Okay, why am I here?

I like funny people, crazy people, everyone but political and religious fanatics! I'm interested to see what the people in this network are like.

You're right! We do look alike! Maybe we were seperated at birth? I'm glad that you found my half-finished profile and commented. I might not have remembered to finish it if you hadn't.

There's nothing more demoralizing than being rejected as an online 'friend'. On the positive, at least it isn't face-to-face. I'm glad I got to chat at you - my first contact here.

Awesome. Great profile. Thanks for jumping in... and, uh, not hurting anyone when you landed.

About Me:
Eleanor Tylbor has been a freelance writer and columnist for more than twenty years. She has contributed humor columns to regional newspapers and was a columnist for The Suburban and The Laval News, in addition to writing human-interest pieces for various dailies and Internet sites.

Always searching for new challenges she spread her wings focusing her efforts on playwriting. To this end she has written two two-act plays (both comedies), "Make Me a Wedding!" and "Gin – An Allegory for Playing the Game of Life", in addition to a one-act drama entitled, "A Clean Shave." She placed among the top five finalists in the Take-One Productions short-film script competition with her short script, "For the Birds" originally written as a short play.

"Writing is a lot like a bowl of alphabet soup.", she believes. "You never know what will happen when all the letters are put together."

Married, she is the mother of two grown children and grandmother to four grandchildren.

Obituary announcement - death of a green kind

It is with great sorrow that I announce the demise and passing and death of one of my senior house plants, Ms (or Mr.) Christmas Cactus (CC). Ms Cactus had been ailing for a while and in spite of generous injections of water and "TLC" - she has gone to meet others of her kind in that great garden in the sky.

There is a certain amount of personal guilt attached to this death since her earth had not been changed for a number of years. Okay. Seven years. Its demise most likely is due to ind… Continue

No more official UFO sightings for Brits

Interesting that this story ended in the Ananova.com Quirky news file, given the gravity or repercussions of this report. So y'see - the British Ministry of Defense who deals with UFO reports (among other things one presumes), is closing up shop after 60 years of investigations, 12,000 reports including 135 last year alone.

As is the case in many governments around the globe, the heart of the matter is money so the decision to close the department will result in a savings of £50,000 per year.… Continue

Looking for a challenge that offers a reward, which money alone can't compensate? The Leeds University may be the right place to end your job search since it is seeking out - wait for it - a researcher to study lap dancing.

I'm a twit...you're a twit...we're all a-Twitter

Some thoughts about Twitter. My motivation for signing up was because – well – it seemed like the logical thing to do since the hot and not-so-hot celebrities are there. The idea in as far as I can tell, is to follow people in the hope that they will follow back.

Why?

So that you can accumulate “followers” and increase your numbers – in the numerical sense of course. Why increase your followers? Not quite sure but presumably this has boasting rights i.e. “I have 20,000 followers and I’m popula… Continue

French shoe designer feels that Barbie, the vinyl fashionista's ankles are too fat

"French shoe designer Christian Louboutin, who is known for his high-priced high heels, doesn't find Barbie's classic figure flattering and he says her ankles are fat."

Word has it that Barbie is furious about Louboutin's statement and observation and is threatening to throw out her 125 pairs of Loutoutin shoes.

"I said 'maybe'... I mean, I haven't decided yet. I just could, y'know!" the vinyl fashionista told reporters when questioned as to whether or not she was serious or just threa… Continue
