Until law school, I never read popular fiction. It was always something you would find on a reading list for a literature course or non-fiction. I spent a few summers in college reading the works of Faulkner and Williams for my own enjoyment.
Over winter break during my first year of law school I discovered Cornwell and Sandford. I also like Evanovich. (There are some editing issues as far as consistency in the Plum series. I can overlook them because the stories are just fun.)
I'm also on the Harry Potter bandwagon. Wonderful stories.
Favorite practical joke
I'm more into word play than practical jokes.
Favorite joke:
Q: What was the largest operation in the world?
A: Lansing Michigan!
If you "got" that and laughed (even if you groaned a little)? I love you, will you be my friend?

Kalamazoo and Paw Paw for me. Re: hiring... hmmm, I don't know. Actually, it's possible. Are you looking for Chicago Loop? I know several law firms, three or four well enough to ask that question (check out my website www.normcowie.com, and look at the non-fiction stuff). If so, maybe you can send me more stuff (short professional bio- off line? My work email is ncowie@evergreenoak.com
Thanks for coming over. Actually, regarding your joke, it got more of a snicker... then again, I used to live in Lansing Michigan. And I know where Grayslake is, too, if you mean Illinois.
Hey, if you are Illinois, there's a chance that I know your law firm. And take this the right way ... please ... but I pick on attorneys in my first book. Also telemarketers, Grand Prix drivers, litterers, etc.
But anyone who likes Stephanie Plum belongs on this site, so WELCOME!
