Hometown:
Pennsylvania
About Me:
Victoria L. Milillo is a forty-something mother of two - a 12 year old daughter and 48 year old husband. (Which do you think requires more maintenace?)

After spending over twenty years in the banking industry, Victoria decided to call it quits. Rather the banking industry called it quits on her! After being fired from her last banking job, Victoria is currently unemployed and pursuing her vision of being a "paid" writer. Two of her essays have been published in the Humor Press America's Funniest Volume 3 anthology, but she has yet to be offered actual money for her writing endeavors.
Favorite Books / Authors
Of Mice and Men, The Shining, Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man, The Grapes of Wrath, Lord of the Rings Trilogy, The Chronicles of Narnia
Favorite practical joke
The ol' thumb tack on the seat is still one of my favorites.

If I Had It to do Over

It sounded like a good idea at the time, but . . .

If I had it to do over again I wouldn't ask my husband to be in the delivery room with me when my daughter was born. I don't know what I was thinking. I knew he was squeamish when it came to blood, and I knew he would feel completely out of his element. But, there are shiny medical instruments and other gadgets he could play with, in the room, so, I thought he would be fine.

Boy, was I wrong!

The day went something like t

A Fish Out of Water

Thanks to my middle-agedness I no longer belong in a music store. I’m truly a fish out of water, a dinosaur, a relic in these outlets of modern day pop culture.

Recently, my eleven year- old daughter asked me to take her to the music store to buy a CD. Since my husband usually goes with her and brings home yet another David Bowie CD, I jumped at the chance to take her. This was my opportunity to buy a Pat Benatar CD to replace the album we can no longer play. I happily, or should I say

Hi Victoria, I saw that you were on today. This site is not often inhabited by many, so I thought I'd stop by! I'd add you to my friend request, but I'm not sure how. I'm going to click on your little "friend" button and see what happens. I have an 11 year old daughter, and if nothing else in cyberspace binds us, I'm sure that will. Stop by my website if you have time. See you!

Howdy, Victoria,

I want to answer your question. Your husband requires far more maintenance! I'd say 'duh' here, but I don't want one of those cyber spats. Anyway, I heard that a constant dose of the chemical ESPN will help alleviate many of his 'guy' symptoms.
Anyway, welcome!
Norm

In any case, I would be happy to include you as my 'cyber-friend'. Now I don't look so pathetic to everyone else - I at least have one point of contact!

Thing is...I find this will-you-be-my-cyber-friend shtick really weird. I belong to two other humor forums, neither of which uses the "friend" thingie and nobody cares. This leads me to wonder if "friends" have cyber-spats? You know...one gets insulted over something that the other writes and then the other writes, "I'm not your friend anymore!"

"Victoria L. Milillo doesn't have any friends..."

Aw Victoria - that is like...so sad! If you want I'll be your friend and you can be mine and then everybody here can be each other's friends! BTW - I can't quite grasp this "blah-blah wants to be your friend" bit. In as far as I'M concerned, we're all friends in the cyber sense. To the best of my knowledge, which doesn't say much, a couple of people I requested to be my friends actually refused. So now I'm worried that maybe they've actually spoken to people who know about me and hence the refusal. Oh well - can't please all the people all the time or some of the people part of the time or part of the people some of the time... Forgetaboutit...

Don't know if you've noticed but you and I look exactly alike! I mean, have you noted the similarities in your photo and my photo in this forum? What are the odds, huh?

Just a few blah-blah's...
